Morning of My Life (Bee Gees, The, 1966, 1970 ,1971, 1973). Live cover performance by Bill Sharkey, Home Studio, Hawaii Kai, HI. 2024-02-05. "Keeping the Oldies & Classics Alive"

"Morning of My Life," written by Barry Gibb, although recorded in 1966 as "In the Morning," was not available on a Bee Gees' record until the release of the album "Inception/Nostalgia" in 1970. It was later rerecorded in 1970 and included on the soundtrack album for the film "Melody" in 1971. This version finally appeared on a Bee Gees' album, the Best of Bee Gees Vol. 2 album in 1973. Esther & Abi Ofarim recorded a version of the song in 1967 and released their single in the UK, but it was only a hit in Germany and Austria (see wikipedia, 2024).

Lyrics:

In the morning when the moon is at it's rest
You will find me at the time I love the best
Watching rainbows play on sunlight
Pools of water iced from cold night
In the morning
'Tis the morning of my life

In the daytime I will meet you as before
You will find me waiting by the ocean floor
Building castles in the shifting sands
In a world that no one understands
In the morning
'Tis the morning of my life
'Tis the morning of my life

In the morning of my life
The minutes take so long to drift away
Please be patient with your life
It's only morning and you're still to live your day

In the evening I will fly you to the moon
To the top right hand corner of the ceiling in my room
Where we'll stay until the sun shines
Another day to swing on clothes lines
May I be yawning
'Tis the morning of my life
'Tis the morning of my life

In the morning
In the morning
In the morning
