DEVASTATING CLIMATE ATTACK

The climate continues its destructive onslaught: climate seasons shift, drought is replaced by catastrophic floods, unprecedented temperature contrasts are recorded, and new records are set.

In March 2022, a record number of tornadoes were recorded in the U.S. - at least 219 tornadoes were recorded according to the Storm Prediction Center, the highest number on record since 1950.
In early April 2022, a series of severe storms with heavy hail swept across the southeastern United States. More than 30 tornadoes were recorded. Sadly, there were deaths and injuries. About 50,000 homes and businesses were left without power.

Eyewitnesses and Вreaking News reporters report on these and other events in this issue.

Record-breaking cold weather has hit Europe, causing significant damage to farms.
On March 31, snow covered northern Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. After two weeks of near-summer weather, temperatures dropped to -7°C and snow fell. And on April 1, snowfalls engulfed central and southern Germany.
In the UK, 20-degree heat abruptly gave way to frost, snow suddenly fell, and temperatures dropped to -6°C. Blizzards were recorded even in the south of the country, as far south as London.
On March 31 and April 1, winter precipitation affected France, and an "orange" level of weather danger was declared in 22 departments. Intense snowfall disrupted rail and ground transportation.

On April 1, 2022, a devastating hurricane struck the city of Vratsa, Bulgaria. Wind gusts reached 160 km/h.
On April 1 winter weather returned to the Czech Republic: snow fell and temperatures dropped to -5°C. Reduced visibility provoked traffic accidents.
On the same day there was snow on most of Spain, with wind gusts of up to 120 km per hour. There was a feeling of thirty degrees of frost.
Winter also returned to Albania, Croatia and Belgium.

Against the background of abnormal rains throughout Brazil, which have continued since late 2021, in March 2022 in the southeastern state of Minas Gerais were recorded extremely dry weather: in one month the rainfall was 95% below the historical average.
Since March 31, 2022, torrential rains hit the state of Rio de Janeiro. The rains triggered landslides. Unfortunately, there have been fatalities and injuries.

On April 2, in the municipality of Ancuya, Colombia, heavy rains also caused a landslide. Again, unfortunately, there were fatalities and several people were injured. Landslides have blocked important roads.

On April 3, a major storm struck the state of Florida, USA. The resort of Miami was hit by gusty winds and large hail. Homes and cars were damaged.

On April 5, heavy rains caused heavy flooding in Morocco, and the downpours did not stop for two days, flooding several cities. No fatalities were reported. About 2,000 homes were destroyed and damaged.

The paradox of climate change is that while in some places of the planet abnormal drought and disappearing water from rivers and lakes, powerful floods continue in others. This is caused by endogenous (internal) processes of the Earth.
Only knowledge about the real causes of global climate change on the planet gives hope and an opportunity to pass this period with the least losses.
Aware of the seriousness of climate change, people around the world are coming together to create awareness of this unique opportunity. Join us too!
