Parents turn in escaped 17-year-old Louisiana inmate who was being held on attempted murder charges

Authorities announced on Sunday that an escaped 17-year-old inmate, facing attempted murder charges in Louisiana, has been apprehended after his parents turned him in.

Kimmy Dauntain Jr., a resident of Orleans Parish, had escaped while on an escorted trip in Franklin, Louisiana, on Friday, leading to a three-day manhunt conducted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Dauntain’s parents facilitated his surrender to Louisiana State Police custody on Sunday morning, as stated in a news release from the Office of Juvenile Justice, CNN reported.
