On today's podcast, Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host the show while Ashley tells listeners what they will hear. First, Bryan Lynn has a report on Cameroon's launch of the world’s first effort to vaccinate children and babies against malaria. The effort aims to use one of the two vaccines approved for the disease. The version Cameroon uses is about 30 percent effective and requires four doses.

Then Dan Friedell has a story about refugees who are planting trees in a refugee camp in Uganda to replace the trees they burned for cooking fuel. A group is supporting the effort. Right now, they are planting pine and acacia trees and bamboo.

Then Dan Novak has a report on a recent finding that the weight loss drug Ozempic and similar drugs are not linked to suicidal thoughts. Researcher had been looking into a possible link between suicide and the drugs that make users feel full. They found no links in the U.S. but suggested the drugs might actually reduce suicidal thoughts.

Then, Ashley talks with Dan about the semaglutide containing drugs which are very popular for weight loss. That is followed by Ashley's promotional message for the VOA Learning English program, Let's Learn English with Anna.

Finally, Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins explore the uses of conditional statements in Let's Learn English which features Anna's fear of bees. They discuss type one and type two conditional statements.
