Bodycam Release Date 2/2/2024 Marion County, Florida - Four individuals were involved in a tragic incident in Marion County, resulting in three fatalities and one person in critical condition. The incident began when Kendra Boone, a 33-year-old woman, attempted to take the keys of an elderly woman at Forest Plaza in Silver Springs. Although Boone was unsuccessful in obtaining the keys, she proceeded to try and enter the woman's vehicle. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and instructed Boone to go to the back of their patrol car. However, while the deputy momentarily stepped out of the vehicle, Boone took advantage of the opportunity and entered the driver's seat. Despite the deputy's efforts to remove her from the car, Boone managed to speed away, initiating a pursuit with law enforcement. During the chase, Boone drove recklessly, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph and making multiple U-turns. Tragically, as she attempted to pass a semi-truck on the right shoulder of East Highway 40, Boone lost control of the stolen vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a pickup truck. The impact resulted in the deaths of Boone, the pickup truck driver, and one passenger. Another passenger in the truck sustained critical injuries and is currently fighting for their life in the hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol and Marion County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident.
