The drugs have exploded in North GA. Fentanyl has increased. It is not a lack of enforcement, it is the wide open border. Fannin and Gilmer counties have joined efforts to combat the issue. The investigations are taking the officers far away from home. They aren’t chasing ounces anymore, the weights are larger and they aren’t chasing drug dealers, it is the cartels.
The sheriff will not release someone they can not ID.
The cases are not being solved within 48 hours. The sheriffs now have dedicated officers that are working with organizations across the country. The networking is something to be proud of, and the technology has advanced.
It is hard to find quality applicants.
In Gilmer county there was a cartel murder several years ago. Majority of the defendants were in Mexico. It was $50K taxpayer money to just get the inmates back to Gilmer County. The drugs are being funneled to our communities by the cartels. If someone doesn’t stop at the border. The national security of the United States is at risk. The people don’t have a fear of law enforcement.
Life as we know it is coming to an end with the open border. We don’t know who is in these rental cabins. We do not know when the next terrorist attack will take place.
