Elie Chouraqui's legal attempt to ban Pascal Obispo's show "Les 10 Commandements – L'envie d'aimer" over alleged copyright infringement has been dismissed by a Paris court. Chouraqui, co-creator of the original musical in 2000, claimed Obispo's production reused elements without permission. The court ruled in favor of Obispo and ordered Chouraqui to pay €10,000 in damages for defamation. Obispo's revamped show, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original, includes new elements and is set to debut in March. Chouraqui's lawyer plans to appeal, deeming the judgment "incomplete, inconsistent, and incomprehensible."
