Footage has been shared of what appeared to be a room full of immigrants under military guard, hidden away at an airport in Atlanta. Georgia State Senator Colton Moore shared the footage on X, after receiving what he said were reports from a whistleblower at the airport. Further investigation revealed a room tucked away, guarded by a soldier. Moore was able to film through the door, until several people yelled ‘no!’ and blocked his view.

The immigrants were accompanied by a volunteer group called ‘Team Libertad,’ according to a group member who identified himself. The group claims to greet immigrants at the airport and help them get to ‘where they need to be.’ According to the volunteer, the immigrants in the room were recently released from ICE detention.

It’s unclear who the soldier guarding the door is, or what branch of the military he is from, but a Georgia National Guard spokesperson said they were ‘not aware of the incident in question or any such activity involving the Georgia National Guard at the airport.’

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, meanwhile, has admitted knowledge of the room, saying, ‘ATL works with Team Libertad volunteers to provide assistance to immigrants during their travel,’ and accusing the senator of ‘interrupting’ their work.
