Fourth Walgreens Pharmacy In Boston Set To Close Due To High Crime

Here's an Idea for Dem Senators From Mass. Who Protested Store Closings (Due to High Crime.) This morning I ran across a story from Boston 25 News (Amy Curtis covered it here a few days ago), and this is how a local news outlet presented the story: A local Walgreens is shutting its doors for good. The pharmacy closure in Roxbury on Warren Street is the latest in low-income communities in Boston, after stores in Hyde Park and Mattapan recently closed their doors. https://twitchy.com/amy-curtis/2024/01/16/walgreens-closing-in-boston-n2391802 -- First, I was struck by what's not mentioned in the story (or some others as well), but I'll get to that in a minute. The store closures have drawn the attention of Massachusetts' two Democrat senators, who protested recently: “A local Walgreens is shutting its doors for good. The pharmacy closure in Roxbury on Warren Street is the latest in low-income communities in Boston, after stores in Hyde Park and Mattapan recently closed their doors.”

“Many lawmakers have spoken out against this closure, including Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, who stood along protestors in front of the store, asking Walgreens not to close it. Despite their efforts, this pharmacy is closing for good today.” -- Democrats call these "underserved communities," and often -- with the media's help as you can see -- they don't care to explain why these areas are "underserved": They're run by soft-on-crime Democrats and businesses don't want to invest in areas where they're just going to lose their money (and maybe more). Also to a large degree, the owners of these stores and even the media won't mention the reason for the closures because they don't want to be called racist. That brings me to my idea for lefty Sens. Warren and Markey -- especially Warren: Why don't they open their own damn stores in the area? Elizabeth Warren is worth well over $10 million and it's her chance to help these folks who are, according to Democrats, being victimized by mean corporations. Warren and Markey could surely raise capital from other rich Democrats in Congress for this humanitarian venture, right? Wrong. They'll never put their own money where their lying mouths are.

Razor @hale_razor: “Victim of repeated crimes acts to protect itself, leading to attacks and shaming from politicians and media.” -- The answer for honest citizens who live in those areas is to stop voting for Democrats!! It's a shame that's very unlikely to happen.
