Another cheek to cheek swirl with Lady Death. Trying to cut down a Maple that was messing with my Cypress. Cold Water creek comes out a drainage pipe not a sewage. I cut deep wedges to direct the fall. If it went the wrong way it could take down the main power, phone, and cable lines. I kept cutting and cutting and cutting. Using iron wedges and sledge hammer. Nothing, not a budge. I had to cut it down to inches. I was a virgin self taught lumberjack. By physics and gravity it should have fell easy. I cut what I thought was the majority of the vines. Then rather than falling into the large wedges I had cut it slid toward the creek... and me. I fell to my back pulling with me the running chain saw. The tree slid to straight to the ground, not falling to any side. It was between my spread legs very near my feet and then moved no further. This happened this morning. Enjoy.
