Homemade Hot Cocoa Surprise!

After getting off chocolate, I started enjoying carob like I never had before.

I used to hate it... now I really, really enjoy it.

Why switch?

One of the big issues we have as women: we have self-medicated with chocolate. I certainly have!

I ate a ton of chocolate. I was addicted to the caffeine boost and the copper in chocolate.

Copper can become toxic if you have too much in your body.

It's a heavy metal. And when you have too much, you become estrogenic, you can have nerve pain, you can have headaches, you can have hormone imbalances, you can have sleep problems because it's making you wired, but tired.

Chocolate is abundant in copper (and caffeine). Yet carob is caffeine-free, and has less than one fifth the amount of copper as cocoa.

Whether it's chocolate chips versus carob chips, hot cocoa versus carob cocoa, you are reducing your copper intake by at least 5 times.

Significant when you consider the effects of copper on your hormones, etc.!

You can use it interchangeably in all your recipes... including our Eat God's Way recipes!

In this video, I am making homemade hot "cocoa" with carob and it's every bit as yummy!

In Eat God's Way, we use quality, whole foods. Which makes substituting around your particular dietary needs pretty easy... and delicious!
