Road Commissions In The Upper Peninsula Are Working Way Ahead Of Schedule This Winter

Due to the unseasonably warm winter, counties in the Upper Peninsula are doing something rarely seen this time of year.

Several counties in the U.P. have announced seasonal road weight restrictions starting yesterday (Tuesday).

Semi-trucks traveling along roads in these counties will have to reduce their loads by 35% for the time being.

Chippewa, Gogebic, Luce, Mackinac, and Schoolcraft counties are the ones that have not yet set a load limit.
