Episode 1823: What is Sensus Catholicus?

Before starting those episode I want to use the words of St Francis Desales
"Love everyone with a deep love based on charity,... but form friendships only with those who can share virtuous things with you. The higher the virtues you share and exchange with others, the more perfect your friendship will be.”
So this episode begs the question what Sensus Catholicus is: This translates directly to "Catholic Sense" and is often used in theological contexts to refer to the shared understanding of faith and tradition within the Catholic Church.
So let me ask another question. Do you as a Catholic look around and see a massive loss of faith?
Let me read you something Pope Francis the Vicar of Christ who by the way doesn’t want that title to be used. First Pope to ever renounce that title and simply refer to himself as the Bishop of Rome. He cautioned on Dec. 21 top Vatican officials against becoming rigid and obsessing over ideology, saying that such habits (notice he replaces the word Doctrine with a very secular word) can prevent the Catholic Church from growing.
"Fear, rigidity and monotony make for an immobility that has the apparent advantage of not creating problems…but lead us to wander aimlessly within our labyrinths, to the detriment of the service we are called to offer the church and the whole world," said the pope.
Francis warned that rigid ideological positions, even if motivated by good intentions, can "separate us from reality and prevent us from moving forward."
Sometimes this Pope makes me say “SEEESHHH”
You know what St Paul said?
1 Corinthians 10:23, " All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.."
Ephesians 4:29 “Let no evil speech proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers.”

This applies to speech as well. He emphasizes that our words should build others up, not tear them down.
So the bigger question is why does the Holy Father seem to support those things that do just that and not support the values and doctrines of our Catholic Faith?
Or better yet when your Priests, Bishop and Pope speak or when our modern culture pushes certain agendas do we have a Sensus Catholicus?
Sadly that is long gone and going away very quickly. In my episode yesterday I spoke about teaching the next generation to guard them from what is coming and instill in them a sense of Catholicism as their armor.
Why? Because much like in the past we are not going down a road of perdition as a church and culture, but we are skyrocketing down.
What did Christ say in Luke 10:18:

"I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

This statement occurs after the disciples return from a successful mission, excited about their power over demons.

1. Literal Fall: This a literal event, referring to Satan's rebellion and expulsion from heaven before human creation. This aligns with passages like Isaiah 14:12-15, which describe a prideful being cast down from heaven.
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? how art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations?13. And thou saidst in thy heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north.14. I will ascend above the height of the clouds; I will be like the most High.15. But yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, into the depth of the pit.

2. Symbolic Fall: representation of Satan's loss of power and influence due to the disciples' work and Jesus' ministry. the victory of good over evil being brought about by God's actions.
3. Spiritual Insight: the "fall" is a spiritual insight granted to Jesus, revealing the ongoing struggle between good and evil and the ultimate defeat of Satan. The ongoing nature of spiritual warfare and the importance of resisting evil.
4. Encouragement to Disciples: Emphasizing authority and the effectiveness of their work in God's name against Satan's influence. The power entrusted to believers in spreading God's message and opposing evil.
So in our modern time do we think it is any different than any other time? Do we really think that Satan is any less evil or less effective? Didn’t Christ say to Peter
Luke 22:31-32:

And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren.

This passage highlights Jesus' foreknowledge of Peter's upcoming struggles and his act of intercession for him. Jesus warns Peter that Satan desires to test his faith, using the metaphor of sifting wheat to separate the chaff from the grain. However, Jesus assures Peter that he has prayed for him specifically, so that his faith will remain strong. The verse concludes with Jesus entrusting Peter with the responsibility of strengthening his brothers in faith once he has overcome his own trial.
Is this what we should be doing for the Peter of our Times Pope Francis? Is this Pope being sifted like wheat and is our Catholic Church being sifted and is our secular administration, educators and parents being sifted. Absolutely!
When asked by the interviewer, Fabio Fazio, how he “imagines hell,” Pope Francis gave a short response.

“What I am going to say is not a dogma of faith but my own personal view: I like to think of hell as empty; I hope it is,” Pope Francis said.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that Catholic teaching “affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, ‘eternal fire.’ The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.”
What we are experiencing is a wokeness of Catholics.
Catholics who refuse to use their Sensus Catholicus and instead use their:

Sensus humanus: This translates directly to "Human Sense" and is a broad term encompassing common sense, understanding, and perception. It lacks specific nuance, however.

Sensus communis: This translates to "Common Sense" and refers to practical judgment and basic knowledge shared by most people. It emphasizes the intuitive and non-specialized nature of this type of sense.

Sensus rationalis: This translates to "Rational Sense" and focuses on the ability to reason and think logically. It highlights the intellectual aspect of understanding the world.
Sensus moralis: This translates to "Moral Sense" and refers to the ability to distinguish right from wrong. It emphasizes the ethical and social implications of our sense of right and wrong.
Sensus proprius: This translates to "Proper Sense" and refers to the five traditional senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing). It focuses on the physical and biological senses we use to interact with the world.

See when you use your Sensus Catholicus you use your Sensus moralis: "Moral Sense" which is the ability to distinguish right from wrong. It emphasizes the ethical and social implications of our sense of right and wrong.
Do we have it? Well as good communists and liberalists of our time know very well the best way to sift the faithful like wheat is to bombard their senses until the cave in and go along to get along.
When they see homosexual couples acting out the turn their head and deny what their senses see. When they get on virgin airlines and every seat back shows to homosexual men laying against each other on a plane seat they don’t object they just go along. When they see feminists marching for the right to abort they don’t stand up they sit down. When they see the children being polluted in the school systems with all this garbage wokeness they don’t stand up but instead sit down.
St Augustine said, "he who does not oppose evil allows it to flourish,"
So "silence in the face of evil is itself evil," or "neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim."
So we must must must use our Sensus Catholicus.
Okay so let me read to you 3 warnings the Blessed Mother gave at La Salette, Fatima, and Akita.
La Salette
Maximin Giraud said on September 19, 1846, “we saw a beautiful Lady.
Here is what this Lady said to me:
“If my people continue, what I will say to you will arrive earlier, if it changes a little, it will be a little later.
France has corrupted the universe, one day it will be punished. The faith will die out in France: three quarters of France will not practice religion anymore, or almost no more, the other part will practice it without really practicing it. Then, after [that], nations will convert, the faith will be rekindled everywhere.

A great country in the north of Europe, now Protestant, will be converted; by the support of this country all the other nations of the world will be converted.

Before all that arrives, great disorders will arrive, in the Church, and everywhere. Then, after [that], our Holy Father the Pope will be persecuted. His successor will be a pontiff that nobody expects.

Then, after [that], a great peace will come, but it will not last a long time. A monster will come to disturb it.

All that I tell you here will arrive in the other century, at the latest in the year two thousand.”

Mélanie Mathieu, Shepherdess of La Salette, Grenoble, July 6, 1851, told the secret which the Blessed Virgin gave to her on the Mountain of La Salette on September 19, 1846
“The time of God’s wrath has arrived!
If, when you say to the people what I have said to you so far, and what I will still ask you to say, if, after that, they do not convert, (if they do not do penance, and they do not cease working on Sunday, and if they continue to blaspheme the Holy Name of God), in a word, if the face of the earth does not change, God will be avenged against the people ungrateful and slave of the demon.

My Son will make his power manifest! Paris, this city soiled by all kinds of crimes, will perish infallibly. Marseilles will be destroyed in a little time. When these things arrive, the disorder will be complete on the earth, the world will be given up to its impious passions.

The pope will be persecuted from all sides, they will shoot at him, they will want to put him to death, but no one will be able to do it, the Vicar of God will triumph again this time.

The priests and the Sisters, and the true servants of my Son will be persecuted, and several will die for the faith of Jesus Christ.

A famine will reign at the same time.

After all these will have arrived, many will recognize the hand of God on them, they will convert, and do penance for their sins.

A great king will go up on the throne, and will reign a few years. Religion will re-flourish and spread all over the world, and there will be a great abundance, the world, glad not to be lacking nothing, will fall again in its disorders, will give up God, and will be prone to its criminal passions.

[Among] God’s ministers, and the Spouses of Jesus-Christ, there will be some who will go astray, and that will be the most terrible.

Lastly, hell will reign on earth. It will be then that the Antichrist will be born of a Sister, but woe to her! Many will believe in him, because he will claim to have come from heaven, woe to those who will believe in him!

That time is not far away, twice 50 years will not go by.

My child, you will not say what I have just said to you. (You will not say it to anybody, you will not say if you must say it one day, you will not say what that it concerns), finally you will say nothing anymore until I tell you to say it!

Fatima
The first Marian apparition of Fatima – May 13th, 1917: Mary asks the children to return on the 13th each month for 6 months. Mary tells the children they will suffer much, but will reach Heaven. She then asks the children to say the rosary every day to bring peace to the world.
The second Marian apparition of Fatima – June 13th, 1917: Mary asks the children to add the Fatima prayer to the end of each decade of the Rosary. They ask for her to take them to Heaven and she replies, “Soon I will take Jacinta and Francisco, but Lucia is to stay a while longer.”
The third Marian apparition of Fatima – July 13th, 1917: Mary shows the children a vision of Hell and reveals that God wishes for there to be a great devotion the Mary’s Immaculate Heart to save souls from Hell. She then predicted the Second World War and the persecution of the faithful in Russia warning that without prayer and consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart “she [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the entire world, fomenting wars and persecution of the Church.”
The fourth Marian apparition of Fatima – August 19th, 1917: The local administrator imprisons the children to prevent them from making their appointment with Mary. 6 days later she appears to them in a pasture and asks them, “Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners. For many souls go to Hell because there is no one to pray for them.”
The fifth Marian apparition of Fatima – September 13th, 1917: A crowd witnesses white rose petals falling from the sky and then disappearing as Lucia asked Our Lady of Fatima to cure the sick. She replies that only some will be cured while the Lord “has no confidence” in others who were not healed.
The sixth Marian apparition of Fatima – October 13th, 1917: 70,000 – 100,000 people witness “The Miracle of the Sun” from up to 10 miles away. Secular news reporters present for the miracle reported unexplainable phenomenon. Mary reveals herself as the Lady of the Rosary and says, “People must amend their lives, ask forgiveness for their sins and not offend Our Lord any more for He is already too much offended.”
First Secret - Vision of Hell:
The first secret is said to be a vision of Hell shown to the three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto. The Blessed Mother reportedly revealed the reality of Hell and the suffering of souls condemned to eternal damnation. This vision had a profound impact on the children and served as a call to conversion and prayer.
Side Note: This is particularly interesting since Pope Francis just recently stated

Second Secret - WWI, WWII, and Consecration of Russia:
The second secret included a prediction of the end of World War I, as well as a prediction of the beginning of World War II if humanity did not turn away from sin. Additionally, the Blessed Mother requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart as a means to bring about peace in the world and the conversion of sinners.

Third Secret - Vision of Persecution of the Church:
The third secret was revealed by Lucia later. It described a vision of a bishop dressed in white (interpreted as the Pope), along with other bishops, priests, religious, and laypeople walking up a steep mountain. They were eventually killed by soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at them.

Akita
On June 28, 1973, a cross-shaped wound appeared on the inside left hand of Sr. Agnes. It bled profusely and caused her much pain. On July 6, Sr. Agnes heard a voice coming from the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the chapel where she was praying. The statue was carved from a single block of wood from a Katsura tree and is three feet tall. On the same day, a few of the sisters noticed drops of blood flowing from the statue's right hand. On four occasions, this act of blood flow repeated itself. The wound in the statue's hand remained until September 29, when it disappeared. On September 29, the day the wound on the statue disappeared, the sisters noticed the statue had now begun to "sweat", especially on the forehead and neck. On August 3, Sr. Agnes received a second message. On October 13, she received a final third message.
Two years later on January 4, 1975, the statue of the Blessed Virgin began to weep. It continued to weep at intervals for the next 6 years and eight months. It wept on 101 occasions.

The Messages to Sr. Agnes

July 6, 1973

"My daughter, my novice, you have obeyed me well in abandoning all to follow me. Is the infirmity of your ears painful? Your deafness will be healed, be sure. Does the wound of your hand cause you to suffer? Pray in reparation for the sins of men. Each person in this community is my irreplaceable daughter. Do you say well the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist? Then, let us pray it together."

"Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of His Kingdom."

"Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls."

"Most holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from Your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as Your Special Child. Amen."

When the prayer was finished, the Heavenly Voice said: "Pray very much for the Pope, Bishops, and Priests. Since your Baptism you have always prayed faithfully for them. Continue to pray very much...very much. Tell your superior all that passed today and obey him in everything that he will tell you. He has asked that you pray with fervor."

August 3, 1973

"My daughter, my novice, do you love the Lord? If you love the Lord, listen to what I have to say to you."

"It is very important...You will convey it to your superior."

"Many men in this world afflict the Lord. I desire souls to console Him to soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I wish, with my Son, for souls who will repair by their suffering and their poverty for the sinners and ingrates."

"In order that the world might know His anger, the Heavenly Father is preparing to inflict a great chastisement on all mankind. With my Son I have intervened so many times to appease the wrath of the Father. I have prevented the coming of calamities by offering Him the sufferings of the Son on the Cross, His Precious Blood, and beloved souls who console Him forming a cohort of victim souls. Prayer, penance, and courageous sacrifices can soften the Father's anger. I desire this also from your community...that it love poverty, that it sanctify itself and pray in reparation for the ingratitude and outrages of so many men.

Recite the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist with awareness of its meaning; put it into practice; offer in reparation (whatever God may send) for sins. Let each one endeavor, according to capacity and position, to offer herself entirely to the Lord."

"Even in a secular institute prayer is necessary. Already souls who wish to pray are on the way to being gathered together. Without attaching to much attention to the form, be faithful and fervent in prayer to console the Master."

After a silence:

"Is what you think in your heart true? Are you truly decided to become the rejected stone? My novice, you who wish to belong without reserve to the Lord, to become the spouse worthy of the Spouse, make your vows knowing that you must be fastened to the Cross with three nails. These three nails are poverty, chastity, and obedience. Of the three, obedience is the foundation. In total abandon, let yourself be led by your superior. He will know how to understand you and to direct you."

October 13, 1973
"My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior."

After a short silence:

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never see before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests."

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises, and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them"

"With courage, speak to your superior. He will know how to encourage each one of you to pray and to accomplish works of reparation."

"It is Bishop Ito, who directs your community."

And She smiled and then said:

"You have still something to ask? Today is the last time that I will speak to you in living voice. From now on you will obey the one sent to you and your superior."

"Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved."
Conclusion:
We must in these most trying times use our Sensus Catholicus and stand up in support of the mystical body of Christ the Catholic Church and go out and teach as many as possible the faith so they too can have this Catholic Sense to defend themselves and in so doing you will be converting somebody and creating the Catholic Army we need.
