Dr. Sircus discusses the amount of magnesium people need to take orally and transdermally and strategies to bring deficient levels up

Magnesium dosages, when it comes to oral use your bowel tolerance is your best measure. I would start with 5 or 10 drops or sprays in a glass of water, using the magnesium chloride . Diarrhea or loose intestines is diminished if you take it with meals or right after meals. There was a doctor with diabetes who had neuropathy in the feet and he was taking 20 grams of magnesium a day in different forms, all orally – he didn´t know about the transdermal and he treated himself quite successfully. He had magnesium wasting disease, so most of the magnesium he would take, he would actually eliminate, not use. And suggested that the appropriate dose for a normal person treating something very seriously orally with magnesium would be about 2 to 3 grams a day. The official need is around 500 milligrams a day. I would say 1 gram a day would be a good solid dose, of course getting 2 or 3 grams a day and then combining with transdermal. When it comes to the transdermal use, when you really want a strong dose covering the body takes probably takes half an ounce of magnesium oil. You wouldn’t wanna take that much orally but putting it all over the body and then having it massaged in or going out into the sun and leaving it for 30, 40, 50 minutes letting it be absorb to the skin, covers the dose. If you also want to dilute it and put in the eyes, it is 15 parts of pure water – mineral water, to 1 part of magnesium. And getting into injections IV bags is again another story.
