Interview with Joe Lauria of Consortium News, at Peace Rally in Amsterdam

On the 28th of January 2024, the monthly organized Dutch Peace Rally takes place at Dam Square Amsterdam. It’s only been two days, since the judges of the International Court of Justice communicated their ruling on the case about genocide in Gaza, brought by South Africa against Israel. Editor in Chief of Consortium News, Joe Lauria, happens to be in the Netherlands to receive the Dutch Julian Assange Award by the Dutch Free Journalists Association (VVJ). In this interview at Dam Square in Amsterdam we talk about the situation in Gaza, geopolitics, choices the press make in coverage of certain topics, and about the case of Julian Assange.

De maandelijkse vredesbijeenkomst op de Dam in Amsterdam vond dit keer plaats kort na de uitspraak van het internationale gerechtshof over de Gaza Genocide zaak, die door Zuid-Afrika tegen Israël was aangespannen. Hoofdredacteur Joe Lauria van Consortium News is toevallig in Nederland om de Julian Assange Award van de Vereniging Vrije Journalisten (VVJ) in ontvangst te nemen.
