(Day 4:Morning) State continues its case in chief.

WHAT HAPPENED:
Yesterday, we heard from the woman who handles Jennifer hors, school counselor Shawn Hopkins and Sgt. O'Brien who interviewed the Crumbleys hours after the shooting.

WHAT WE EXPECT:
The State is in the middle of its case in chief.

BACKGROUND:
On November 30, 2021, 17 year old Ethan Crumbley went on a psychotic rampage in Oxford High School, located in Oakland County Michigan. He killed four people and wounded 6 others. Ethan has pled guilty to the charges and is appealing his life sentence.

Ethan's parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley were charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter for their alleged "gross negligence" and/or intentional acts that purportedly "increased the foreseeable risk of a particular harm occurring through [Ethan]."

This trial is the first time that the any State has attempted to hold a parent of a school shooter criminally liable for their child's actions. (The trial is only of Jennifer Crumbley. James' is scheduled to be tried separately in March.)

Watch the trial through the eyes of a litigator as we break down the work of the prosecutors, defense counsel and the judge in a trial that could permanently alter criminal liability in America.
