Low FODMAP Pasta Bolognese with Ground Turkey - A Flavorful & Gut-Friendly Recipe!
Recipe: Low FODMAP Pasta Bolognese recipe with ground turkey:
Ingredients:
1 pound (450g) ground turkey
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large carrot, finely diced
2 celery stalks, finely diced
1 red bell pepper, finely diced
1 zucchini, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced (make sure it's tolerated in your low FODMAP diet)
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup (120ml) dry red wine (optional)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
Low FODMAP pasta of your choice (gluten-free if needed)
Instructions:
Prepare the Vegetables:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the carrot, celery, red bell pepper, zucchini, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.
Cook the Ground Turkey:
Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned.
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings:
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir well.
Add oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Optional Red Wine:
If you're using red wine, pour it into the skillet and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Incorporate Tomato Paste:
Stir in the tomato paste to enhance the flavor and thickness of the sauce.
Simmer:
Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust Seasoning:
Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Cook Pasta:
While the sauce is simmering, cook the low FODMAP pasta according to the package instructions.
Combine:
Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors melded, combine it with the cooked pasta.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
