Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Polk County, search underway for driver

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a fatal hit-and-run. The PCSO Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a 911 call around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday in reference to an adult male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle in front of the International Market World on U.S. Highway 92 West in Auburndale.
