Trenton release bodycam footage of officers removing a squatter and trash

Several police vehicles and around ten officers responded to an address on Mulberry Street over the weekend.

The city told The Trentonian police responded to a call of illegal dumping and then officers were threatened, which caused the massive response to a seemingly routine call.

Mayor Reed Gusciora said the initial call was a dispute between neighbors about someone dumping debris over the fence into their backyard.

Police were seen escorting a man from the premises while the man gathered his belongings in trash bags and garbage cans.

Another man at the scene who identified himself as the owner of the property in question, and gave only his first name, Tom, told The Trentonian that the man being escorted out was a squatter.

Tom and several police officers watched the man gather his stuff, and then officers walked him and some of the bags down the street to George Page Park on North Clinton Ave.

The man’s belongings in the trash bags were later seen stashed outside of a work trailer being used as the construction office for the East Trenton Library renovation project.
