5th In our series the Prophet Micah

I. Tolerating Sin brings disaster to your doorstep - Micah 1:8-9
* A. The wicked sins of Samaria brought disaster, destruction and death to the northern kingdom Israel - Micah 1:6-7
* B. But the consequences also came to the southern kingdom of Judah with its capital at Jerusalem
* 1. We are deceived to believe that tolerating sin among the people of God will have no consequences 
* 2. The threat came against the southern kingdom Judah
* a. The destruction of Israel led to the destruction of the fortified cities of Judah - 2 Kings 18:11-13
* b. At the very gates of Jerusalem - 2 Kings 18:28-33

II. The Same principle applies among God's People the assembly of the saints in Christ today - Galatians 6:1-2
* A. First commitment must be to Glorify God
* 1. Restoration cannot take place with wrong motives
* a. In everything we do the goal must always be to glorify God - 1 Corinthians 10:31
* b. Humility is the only path forward
* 2. Jesus can work through us to restore if our heart is right
* B. Second to Get the Log out of our own eye
* 1. The speck or the log? - Matthew 7:3-5
* 2. We cannot see to help until our log is removed
* C. Third seek to Gently Restore
* 1. The fourfold process - Matthew 18:15-20
* 2. The goal must always be full restoration of the believer
* D. Fourth to Go and Be Reconciled
* 1. Forgiveness is costly - Matthew 6:12
* 2. Applying the Golden Rule - Matthew 7:12
