After Crashing His Truck Drunk Florida Man Attacks Deputy

Deputies arrived at the RaceTrac gas station on SR100 East following a report of an accident. There, they found a Ford Ranger that had collided with a fire hydrant, leading to a significant water spill into the adjacent swale. The deputies encountered a man near the truck, identified as 52-year-old Frank Clement Jr., who showed signs of intoxication and admitted to having been drinking.

During the investigation of the incident, Clement Jr. confronted a deputy in a hostile manner. As the deputies attempted to arrest him, Clement Jr. assaulted one of them by forcefully grabbing the officer. A bystander reported that Clement Jr. seemed to be trying to grab the deputy's firearm. The deputies ultimately managed to handcuff Clement Jr.

Following the altercation, Clement Jr. received medical attention for his injuries at AdventHealth-Palm Coast and was subsequently discharged. He was then taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Clement Jr. faces charges including Driving Under the Influence with Property Damage/Personal Injury, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer with Violence, and Reckless Driving.
