Description:

In a recent incident in Ohio, bodycam footage captured the arrest of Anthony Armbruster, an off-duty officer from the Elmwood Police Department. On July 14, St. Bernard police found Armbruster asleep at the wheel of a vehicle, with a noticeable odor of alcohol emanating from inside.

The video shows the moment officers discovered Armbruster and proceeded to conduct a field investigation. Despite the strong suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), Armbruster declined to take a breathalyzer test. He subsequently failed multiple sobriety tests administered by the officers on the scene.

During the interaction, Armbruster is heard expressing his awareness of his impending court appearance, stating that he was due in court in just five hours and remarking that he would not be going to work the following day.

Following this incident, the 28-year-old Armbruster resigned from his position with the Elmwood Police Department. He later entered a plea of not guilty to the DUI charge. This case highlights the serious consequences of impaired driving and the importance of accountability, even among law enforcement officials.
