Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow may shut down, so Cincy Public Schools is making it easy to enroll
Help is on the way for Cincinnati students who could be impacted should one of the nation's largest online charter schools shuts down. Columbus-based ECOT, the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow, has been ordered to repay $60 million to the state of Ohio because it didn't sufficiently document student participation to justify its full 2015-16 funding. Approximately 14,000 students would be impacted should ECOT close. Rather than leave local schoolchildren without an education, Cincinnati Public Schools is making it easier for ECOT parents to transition their students to Cincinnati Digital Academy in just a few minutes at the website here. "We offer a rigorous, college-preparatory, standards-based curriculum complemented by an array of highly qualified teachers and administrators who are dedicated to your child’s success," the CPS website says. Read more about Cincinnati Digital Academy here, or call their helpline at 513-363-0570 with any questions.
