According to National World media outlet, British citizens have been cautioned that they could be summoned for military service if the UK becomes involved in any conflicts due to the army's insufficient numbers. This warning precedes a speech by General Sir Patrick Sanders, the head of the army, who is expected to emphasize the necessity for the government to mobilize the nation in the event of a war with Russia. Gen Sir Patrick, who has criticized the reduction in army personnel, reportedly stated that British men and women should be prepared for a call-up if NATO engages in war with Vladimir Putin. National World media outlet reports that these alleged claims follow a warning from a senior NATO military official, Adml Rob Bauer, who stated that the public should be ready for a full-scale war with Russia within the next two decades, which would bring significant changes to their lives. Adml Bauer suggested that nations should be prepared to increase their military personnel through mobilization, reservists, or conscription. This is not the first time Gen Sir Patrick has hinted at the possibility of requiring public support for the army. In 2022, he compared the situation in the UK to the "1937 moment" before World War II and stressed the importance of being prepared to "fight and win" against Russian threats in Ukraine.
