I'm excited to share with you how amazing Aerolase and VI Peel are in tackling my hyperpigmentation concerns. These two treatments work wonders together to lighten, break up dark spots. My skin is brighter, tighter and has a more radiant appearance. VI Peel is a chemical exfoliation treatment that uses a specialized chemical peel to gently remove the outer layers of dead skin cells. This helps to reveal fresher, more vibrant skin beneath and can also help to minimize the appearance of hyperpigmentation. By attacking the dark spots from multiple angles, VI Peel creates a much more significant improvement in my skin's overall appearance. I have one more Combo treatment of Aerolase and VI Peel to go. I really like these two treatments together; I feel it’s a double whammy to conquering my hyperpigmentation. They don’t call VI Peel the Red Carpet Peel for no reason. Fresh Faces Rx team of experienced aestheticians is well-versed in the use of Aerolase and VI Peel, ensuring that your treatment is performed with precision and effectiveness.
#Darkspots, #brownspots, #agespots, and #melasma. No matter what you call it.. #hyperpigmentation is one of the most frustrating and stubborn conditions to treat. Think everything from #inflammation to #scarring, #sundamage and so on.
#Melanin is what gives skin its beautifully diverse colors. But when melanin is overstimulated, it floods the surface of the skin. Shows up as #darkpatches, dark spots and clumps of different color on #face and #body. In addition to UV exposure from the sun without sunscreen equals sun damage. The American Academy of Dermatology says dark spots can appear from a pimple, a wound that heals that leaves post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Certain medications, skincare products that irritates skin, hormonal changes occur, such as with age or during pregnancy the dreaded mask of pregnancy, or when taking oral contraceptives.
Hyperpigmentation, though it typically presents itself differently across different skin tones.
Six skincare products that have been put to the test for treating hyperpigmentation.
💠Tranexamic Acid: works by blocking the biological process that ends in dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It’s gentler, yet effective, can be used indefinitely, plays well with other skin brightening all stars like Vitamin C and Kojic Acid.
💠Kojic Acid: is a fungi and a byproduct of fermentation, as well as an inhibitor of tyrosine (what produces melanin). By inhibiting melanin production, Kojic Acid minimizes the intensity of dark spots & hyperpigmentation plus prevents them from coming back.
💠Niacinamide: this ingredient does everything from reduce inflammation; fortify the skin’s barrier to put excess oiliness in check plus treat hyperpigmentation. Niacinamide an antioxidant, prevents oxidation that can break down collagen. It also helps boost the skin’s barrier function to make it a greater weapon against environmental stressors. Studies show that it can inhibit the process that leads to dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
💠THD, the Next-Gen Vitamin C: Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate has been shown to increase collagen synthesis, provide better antioxidant protection, plus provide better protection against blue light damage better than traditional L-Ascorbic Acid. It’s oil-soluble, which means the skin’s oils can’t block it from seeping deep into the dermis.
💠Lactic Acid: is part chemical exfoliant, part hydrator, and all-around a gentler alternative. Because it’s water-soluble but not oil-soluble: while it can cut through the skin’s natural hydration layers to provide essential cell sloughing. It can’t cut through skin’s natural oils. This delivers less aggressive yet still powerful exfoliation while clearing the way for brightening treatments.
💠SPF: You can apply Kojic Acid, Tranexamic Acid, Niacinamide, and Vitamin C to no end, but if you’re not shielding your skin against UV rays, dark spots will stay put because UV rays trigger and can even bring back dark spots. A daily use of sunscreen SPF 30-50; reapplied every two hours. Even on cloudy days and/or staying indoors; sunscreen will deliver a more effective treatment result against hyperpigmentation.
I hope my journey of conquering hyperpigmentation has enlighten your understanding. By way of knowing there’s ways to keeping it under control. As we know hyperpigmentation will be there infinitely, but it doesn’t have to show itself. As for me; it’s an ongoing battle. I’m 50 years young; and I’m confident and comfortable in my own skin.
