Cases of human rights violations involving Chinese investment in Indonesia are a serious concern for society and the government. These violations include violence against workers, excessive exploitation of natural resources, environmental pollution, and disregard for the rights of indigenous peoples.

The Indonesian government has committed to taking action and stopping human rights violations that occur in the investment sector. They have issued strict regulations to protect the rights of workers and indigenous communities and control negative impacts on the environment.

Apart from that, the government is also trying to increase transparency in the Chinese investment process in Indonesia. They encourage Chinese companies to comply with international standards on the environment, work and human rights. Strict sanctions are imposed on companies that violate these rules.

On the other hand, the community also plays an active role in fighting for their rights. They formed advocacy groups and held protests to urge the government to act more firmly against human rights violations committed by Chinese companies.

However, challenges remain. Chinese investment in Indonesia continues to grow and spread to various sectors. Therefore, the government needs to strengthen cooperation with China to ensure that these investments can provide fair economic and social benefits for both parties, while still maintaining fundamental human rights principles.

Chinese investment has great potential to encourage economic growth and development in Indonesia. However, joint efforts between governments, companies, communities and non-governmental organizations are needed to ensure that these investments are carried out with due regard for human rights, environmental sustainability and the welfare of society as a whole.
