Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are three people with whom Allaah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection and will not look at them with mercy. One who swears by an item that he has bought it for so much, even though he is a liar. The second is the person who swears falsely after 'Asr in order to kill a Muslim's property unjustly, and the third is the person who does not give extra water to the beggar out of necessity, then Allah will say to him on the Day of Resurrection: Has prevented another from this superfluous, superfluous thing which was not even made by your hands, I will not give you my grace either.
