Upper Peninsula Woman Arrested For Embezzling From Local High School

An Upper Peninsula woman was arrested Friday for embezzling money from Marquette Senior High School (MSHS).

According to a press release from the Marquette Police Department, on January 19th, an arrest warrant was issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for 44-year-old Stacey Leigh Kangas.

Kangas served as the Athletic Secretary at Marquette High School.

Investigators say she embezzled $100,000 or more. Kangas posted the $2,500 bond and will be arraigned on February 26th at 8:15 a.m.
