POLICE INVESTIGATE INSULTS, DO WE NEED THEM?

The police department's all over Canada have hate crimes units which means that if you are some type of loser and you get your feelings hurt, you can call the hate crimes unit and they will open up a full investigation spending tens of thousands of tax dollars to find out who said what to you and why they said it to see if they can hit them with a hate speech charge.

In my view, it's a complete and total waste of time but I want to get your opinion on this. Should we have hate crime units for police? Should we defund police departments that have hate crime units?
