London police pose as party people to catch bad guys

The Metropolitan police has released footage of an ‘innovative’ undercover operation to fight local crime, led by ‘a more precise approach.’

Basing their plans on intelligence data, which showed that the muggers targeted victims leaving pubs, most of them intoxicated and vulnerable, the officers imitate just that. Acting as party goers having fun, also wearing luxury watches and other shiny stuff, the police wait for the suspects to approach and offer something (meaning drugs or sex workers). Then, led to quiet side streets and just as they're apparently about to be robbed, officers make arrests, catching the offenders in the act.
