Senator Joe Biden declared that no great nation has uncontrolled borders and warned that America must build a border fence and hire more border agents to protect the nation from drugs, terror and illegal immigration. Biden accused wealthy Republicans of wanting to increase illegal immigration to replace American workers with cheaper labor. "The reason employers want this additional influx is because it drives down costs. Employers must be held accountable for the unscrupulous practice of bringing people here to keep wages down," he said. "It is not fair to Americans. You have to hold employers accountable for hiring Americans first."

Criticizing President Bush, Biden lamented the lack of border agents, the absence of a border fence and the free flow of drugs into the country. "I've argued that we have to have more protection on our borders, which means you have to have more border guards." "You have to have a significant increase in border security, including limited elements where you actually have a fence." "People can go over and under a fence, but you can't take 100 kilos of cocaine over and under a fence."

Fast forward to Biden's presidency, and a record 8 million people have entered the country illegally in three years, with a fentanyl crisis leading to more than 106,000 Americans overdosing on drugs last year. On his first day in office, Biden introduced policies that encourage illegal immigration:

🔹 Paused deportations
🔹 Suspended "stay in Mexico
🔹 Stopped construction of a border wall

The consequences are dire - a national security crisis that costs American taxpayers hundreds of billions annually and causes major cities to slash budgets for essential services such as fire, police, sanitation and education. As Senator Biden once warned, "No great nation can be in a position where it can't control its borders. "How you control your borders matters. It matters not just for immigration, but it matters for drugs, it matters for terror, it matters for a whole host of other things."
