Iran and Pakistan have launched attacks across their border and into each other's territory.
Both say they are targeting armed groups - and used 'national security' to justify their actions.
Armed groups in the Balochistan region have been launching attacks in Iran and Pakistan for years.
Both governments accuse the other of not doing enough to stop them.
But these latest unilateral military strikes have raised tension between the regional powers.
But what might the consequences be?
