Until Dawn Movie CONFIRMED | Studios Switch from Comic Books to Video Games

Hollywood has been signaling a shift away from comic book movies towards video game adaptations. Movies based on video games are not a new thing, but recent successful adaptation for both the big and small screen offer a promising outlook for the future of the genre.

The latest entry being announced is an adaptation of the Sony PlayStation title Until Dawn which came out in 2015. The game could lend itself really well to a cinematic adaptation since it plays like an interactive movie and is essentially a love letter to horror cinema. Coming onboard for this movie is director David F. Sandberg and Gary Dauberman. David Sandberg got his start in the horror genre before branching out to direct the Shazam films for Warner Bros.
