On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, immediately following our regular 1:15 p.m. session, the Arizona House of Representatives just hosted a Special Joint Legislative Session for legislators to receive a briefing from Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels and Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot, Robert Watkins Public Safety Executive. Regarding the situation at our southern border. The Special Joint Session was requested by Representative Tim Dunn of Yuma.

Arizona’s Disaster on the border was highlighted today in a joint House and Senate border briefing by Sheriff’s Mark Dannels Cochise county and Leon Wilmot Yuma county. The carnage created by the cartels is effecting the lives of Az citizens.
