How to Fix a Frozen Hose Bib Before It Bursts | Easy and Effective Method

So I froze a hose bib in the #TexasFreeze but made a video on how I fixed it.
#diy as long as you catch it before the pipe breaks.

Let me know if this helps.

Steps I used:
1. Measure from end of house to the hosebib.
2. Measure inside the house from end of house to the location of the hosebib. Mark the wall.
3. Measure from the inside wall corner 16" toward the hosebib location and mark (this is generally the first stud in the wall).
4. Measure again this time to 32" and that should be the other stud.
5. Cut a hole, very very carefully in the wall just deep enough to get through the sheetrock (I used a hole saw, but you can use a razor or sheetrock saw).
6. Locate the hose and inspect for breaks. If broken call a plumber or repair if you have those skills. If pipe is intact....
7. Turn on hosebib to full blast.
8. Test heat levels of the hairdryer and place in the hole (allowing some air to escape/ circulate).
9. Run hairdryer testing that the heat is not melting the insulation or plastic pipe, until water runs (this took only a 5-10 minutes in my case).
10. Turn off hairdryer and return to the wife.
11. Dry off hosebib and insulate again (I added a towel).
12. Plug inside hole (I used a towel for now, but will replace sheetrock when I have gotten a few days of inspection completed. Want to make sure the pipe was not damaged by the frozen water.
13. Inspect in the crawlspace where the pipe is run to that part of the wall to see if its leaking or not insulated enough(in my case it was the attic above the garage.
14. Don't leave garage open during a #freeze again.

Hope this is helpful.
Hope this finds you well.
