Rumored Steam Deck 2 Specs LEAKED?!
Steam Deck 2 spec leak surfaces online with massive GPU upgrade. A Steam Deck 2 from Valve could be in the works, and leaked specs reveal that the device might have an OLED screen as well as a big GPU upgrade.
The leak claims that the APU will be based on AMD‘s Zen 4 Hawk Point processors, and will make use of a 16CU GPU. This would be double the current Steam Deck’s eight compute units, which could offer a significant boost in power for the handheld. We suspect it might be AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture powering the chip, much like how the Steam Deck got slightly earlier access to RDNA 2 when it debuted.
The RAM capacity is not specified in the leak, however, it does give us some indication of transfer speeds, with the Steam Deck 2 allegedly using LPDDR5X RAM running at 8533 MT/s. There is currently no indication of storage sizes for the next-gen handheld specified in the rumor.
The Steam Deck 2 is poised to get a big resolution upgrade, to 900p. Given that the leak only states 900p, we assume the handheld will retain its 16:10 aspect ratio and be 1440 x 900. You should also expect an OLED screen, as well as a tasty 90Hz refresh rate. Valve could be simply testing the waters with the current Deck OLED to find ways to optimize the system for the inevitable Steam Deck 2.
Hey, gaming enthusiasts! Exciting rumors are swirling around the gaming community about a potential Steam Deck 2, and if these leaks are true, it's going to be a game-changer. Now, we're not confirming anything just yet, but let's dive into the juicy details that have everyone talking.
First off, imagine a Steam Deck 2 packing some serious power, potentially doubling the compute units of the original Steam Deck. If these rumors hold water, it could mean a significant boost in performance, giving other handhelds a run for their money.
Now, I know all those technical terms might sound like a foreign language, but hang in there – we're in for some exciting possibilities. The leak suggests that the Steam Deck 2 might be equipped with AMD's Zen4 Hawk Point processors, promising a gaming experience that could outshine its predecessor.
Hold on, we're not done yet! The display is rumored to get a substantial upgrade, boasting a resolution bump to 900p, an OLED screen, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Picture the vivid graphics and smoother gameplay – sounds pretty enticing, right?
While the leak doesn't spill the beans on RAM capacity, it does hint at faster transfer speeds using LPDDR5x RAM. What does that mean? Well, let's just say it's like giving your gaming console a turbo boost for seamless performance.
Now, we can't ignore the timing factor. If a Steam Deck 2 is in the works, we might not see it hitting shelves anytime soon. A late 2025 or early 2026 release could be on the cards, giving Valve time to cook up something extraordinary.
Of course, with great power comes a potentially higher price tag. Considering the speculated upgrades, it's safe to assume that the Steam Deck 2 might not be the budget-friendly option its predecessor was. But hey, if it delivers the gaming experience of our dreams, it could be worth the investment.
So, dear gamers, what are your thoughts on these Steam Deck 2 rumors? Are you excited about the potential upgrades, or do you prefer sticking to the current gaming scene?
