A strong storm hit Porto Alegre, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The rain was accompanied by a lot of lightning and hail.
Wind speeds of 89 km/h (25 m/s) were recorded at Salgado Filho airport. Stations in the south of the capital recorded almost 120 km/h (33 m/s).
