Salt and the Civil War and why we as Christians, must remain salty.1/15/24 Fl

Matthew 5:13 "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

Christians must be true to our calling; we can make the earth a purer and more tasteful place. Salt can also cleanse and heal. Salt was used to clean wounds during the Civil War. Lint (soft fleecy material) was most often applied wet with some salt to the wound, covered with a piece of gauze muslin and then covered with an adhesive plaster. Most of you already know that many soldiers died from infections and contaminated water during the Civil War. We understand hygiene much better today. 1/15/24 Naples, Fl www.mefoundation.world
