Police launch murder probe after woman aged 27 found dying at suburban house

A man believed to have been struck by a train this morning was arrested by police investigating the murder of young woman nearby.

The un-named 45-year-old man was detained by officers after being found injured at Nailsea & Backwell station in north Somerset this morning (mon).

British Transport Police were called to reports of a man being struck by a train though social media reports later suggested he had jumped but the train missed him.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries after being arrested.
