2024 is exposing how creatively bankrupt Hollywood is. Sequels, prequels, remakes and reimagining's are dominating the release schedule in the cinema, but on the same fate has befallen the small screen.

The most egregious example of this phenomenon is the Morris Chestnut-led Watson series. Yes, the side kick to Sherlock Holmes is getting his own series. After how many Sherlock Holmes projects in recent years, the best you can do is piggyback off that well explored franchise?
