Maymand: 12,000 Year Old Ancient Batu Village Still Inhabited

Many of the people living in Maymand live in houses in hand-dug caves, some of which have been inhabited for around 3,000 years. The unique architecture in this village shows the fact that the ancient people of Maymand built houses without laying stones, bricks or other building materials on top of other materials. In other words, the construction of the structure was not carried out in an open space, but by digging and carving.
