CANINE CANCER SURVIVOR KILLED BY CAR
Bernadette, a French Bulldog and cancer survivor is dead.

Dateline Peoria, Illinois ̶ Imogene Taylor loved her dog with all her heart. She loved Bernadette so much that when the dog was diagnosed with cancer, Taylor pulled out all the stops spending over $110,000 on scans, blood tests, hospitalization, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. As little Bernadette lay in the hospital, her owner took out a 2nd mortgage on her home to pay the escalating medical bills.

After months of battling cancer the dog was pronounced in remission. Yes, tests now showed that Bernadette was cancer free. “Halleluiah!” was heard again and again as Bernadette came home. Taylor even sprung a few thousand dollars more for a ‘Welcome home’ party for her little Bernadette.

As guests arrived to the soiree, excitement grew among the invited and their dogs as they gathered to congratulate little Bernadette on her new found health and happiness. It was, however, to be a short and bitter meeting.

Taylor had arranged a grand entrance for Bernadette, one in which a white limousine, decked out in flowers, would pull up fashionably late and Taylor, with Bernadette in her arms, would walk a red carpet rolled out in their honour.

At last the limo arrived, the driver opened the door, and out came Taylor and Bernadette. Taylor lost her footing for just a second, dropping little Bernadette to the carpet. And the little dog was off in a flash. She took scampered around the rear of the limo and under the tires of a passing car.

The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.

The moral to this story is simple. People like Taylor put far too much importance and assign ridiculously intense human condition in their relationships with their pets. One cannot ‘adopt’ a pet. One can only ‘receive’ or buy a pet. There is no such thing as a ‘Pet Child’ nor is there such a thing as a ‘Pet Parent’.

This ditzy broad dropped over a hundred thousand dollars into cancer treatments, tests, hospitalization, surgery, radiation, chemotherapy … on a dog! It’s a dog! It’s not a child! It’s property, not a person. In no way can any sane person equate animal rights with those of humans.

I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
