Israel pushing ahead with intense military campaign in Gaza

We woke up today to the sound of fighter jets above Rafah district.

It was heavily bombed by Israeli jets overnight that struck a residential building where 12 Palestinians were reported killed. The attack was in an area very close to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. There were also attacks on the eastern part of the district, which was exposed to shelling.

Attacks in Khan Younis also continued, with people telling us there was an expansion of heavy gunfire exchange between Palestinian fighters and Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli military continued its ongoing campaign to take full control of the city of Khan Younis. There is constant destruction of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. Some people are still trapped and unable to leave Khan Younis, and a large number are still under the rubble and can’t get help from rescue units.
