Israel rejects genocide accusations at World Court

Israel on Friday (January 12) rejected accusations brought by South Africa at the U.N.'s top court that its military operation in Gaza is a state-led genocide campaign. Israel's foreign ministry's legal adviser Tal Becker said halting the offensive would leave Israel defenseless, while Deputy Attorney General of Israel Gilad Noam said the case risked turning the Genocide Convention into a weapon in the hands of "terrorist groups."
