Just noticed Collin County Texas is on list as declaring themself a 'border' county.

If I had a home it would be Texas and was from 1972 -2002

pretty much lost everything after 33 years work

Lucent Technologies was leftover from Bell Labs
and is where I would work last 2 years of my career.

Remember the first day in the Lucent factory in Andover mass and thinking,
I would be happy to work here even if just cleaning up.. to be close to the people who made Bell Lab.

Lucent was long past what it used to be before 2000.
Global crossing was a failure in every way. My team and others with same task was to install software, setup cross connects, test with live traffic and turn over to local control.

Sites were almost never to the stage they were supposed to be. Looked like the install team who came before us were given a Time that ran out ant they just left..

Of all the companies I worked for they were most fucked.

Few of their "engineers" they had degrees and shit for brains.
One team leader in Taiwan had half a million dollars worth of optical boards for Lucent Bandwidth manager (SONET} laying on the floor by the machines. NO FUKING static protection.

Having a sense of humor I took photos and said nothing. It was already done..

Lucent ran out of money Taiwan and global crossing shut down Aug. 2001.
The "turn up" and testing not completed.

Would be a couple years before hearing there were lots of problems with damage by static. Hundreds of thousands of dollars...

The Engineers of Rumble make me think about some of those idiots who didn't know their own jobs.

It only took a few who didn't care at every level to kill what was once Bell Labs.
