Another Polish dish made during the period from New Year's till Tłusty Czwartek, krepliki serowe are traditional Silesian donuts made with cream cheese without the yeast.

They were a popular dish eaten during Carnival in Silesia. During the games, the young girls and boys who gathered would often eat krepliki, chrusty, and paczki.

Some old traditions say that during Tlusty Czwartek villagers would disguise themselves and visit different homes in the villages. As a reward for this, they would receive paczki or krepliki.

Easier and quicker to make than traditional pączki donuts, the krepliki serowe are also heavier, but tasty too. They can be filled with jam or marmalade for a sweet treat or simply prepared without the filling.
Here's how to make Polish Silesian at home!
