Apple has taken a number of cryptocurrency apps down from its Indian App Store, including those from Kraken and Binance. This action, which follows the Indian government's request, indicates a tightening of the nation's regulations on enterprises that deal in digital assets. The Financial Intelligence Unit of India issued a notice about these companies' noncompliance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, which led to their revocation. Bitfinex, HTX, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate.io, Bittrex, Bitstamp, and MEXC Global are among the other exchanges that are impacted. The Indian government's efforts to control the cryptocurrency industry, stop potential money laundering, and stop the funding of terrorism include the removal of these apps.

This event emphasizes the regulatory challenges that tech giants like as Apple have to adhere to local rules, even while their public stance on cryptocurrencies is neutral. Users who have already downloaded the impacted apps can continue to use them even though they are no longer available in the Indian App Store. The availability of these apps on other stores, such the Google Play Store, is unaffected by their removal from the App Store. This decision has no impact on domestic Indian exchanges like CoinSwitch, CoinDCX, and WazirX.
