Our guest speakers are all passionate Brumby supporters and are joining us to discuss the upcoming Independent Scientific Wild Horse Recount efforts that are currently underway in the NSW Snowy Mountains.
Rocky Harvey started a GoFundMe Campaign to arrange a scientific count of the true numbers of wild horses in the region - as current estimates used to justify their slaughter are exorbitantly excessive. Based on statistical extrapolations rather than physical counts.
Statistician Claire Galea joins Rocky Harvey to help us understand more about how this study will be undertaken and what is hoped will be achieved.
Our other guests are representative of all long time Brumby advocates - who want to ensure the best possible outcomes and protection of our Heritage Wild Horses, joining to ask specific questions relevant to the Community.
At least 3,000 Wild Heritage Horses are acknowledged as being sustainable and are officially protected by the 2018 Heritage Brumby Bill.
