If reality stopped making sense our cognitive frameworks would break down and lead us to an existential crisis.

At some point you may have identified the foundation of normie cognition confronted by a threatening new idea as something like "They wouldn't do that" & "How many people would have to be in on it".

This is why your audience's unconscious first priority is probably not the truth, but what they are sacrificing to entertain or accept it.
With the vax, how much stress the system pumped into the counterculture media to raise our affect so we would be telling normies
"if you believe us, you will lose everything"
