Pomorie - Bulgaria

The modern city of Pomorie is located on a narrow, rocky peninsula of the same name, inserted 3.5 km into the Black Sea, on the northwest coast of the Burgas Bay. From the south, east and northeast, the city is surrounded by the sea, from the north - by the Pomorie lake, and only from the west-northwest, through a narrow isthmus, too often flooded by the sea, it is connected to the Pomorie field, which is part of the Burgas lowland. Over the millennia, the configuration of the terrain has changed, which is why the settlement has also changed its location. Now 10 km to the south is the present-day city of Burgas, 18 km to the north is Nessebar.
